I worked from photos I took in the library in the Scottish Rite Grand Lodge. He also posed in my studio & loaned me his hat, chair, medals, and an 1850 edition of Paradise Lost illustrated by Gustave Dore', which had inspired him in High School. Spending so much time with him was an experience I treasure.

Dan Jones posing in my studio. Having posed for many portrait paintings of me and my family by my father, Walter Dee Burnett, I have sympathy for my clients having to pose too long. I do try to get them to pose as much and as often as they are able to.

When Dan was not able to pose I worked from my monitor and his props.
